But he told me: "My kindness is all you need. My power is strongest when you are weak." So I will brag even more about my weaknesses in order that Christ's power will live in me.

Meditation
On days when the sun hung high and the clock granted me reprieve, I'd find solace in the rhythmic steps taken up the formidable hill behind my workplace. It was during such a lunch break, on my fifth ascent, when the transformation of my pace became apparent. Breathless, with the weight of exertion pressing upon my legs and a sting of pain threading through each muscle, I faltered.
In those moments, the instinctive glance over my shoulder offered a visual testament to the distance conquered, a bittersweet reminder of the journey thus far. The crest of the hill loomed ahead, deceptively out of reach, and the temptation to succumb to fatigue's insistent whisper was strong. Yet, as I faced the path once more, the realization dawned that the summit was nearer than it appeared – a beacon of hope urging me onward.
In life's relentless climb, we find ourselves in similar throes of struggle. Discouragement claws at our resolve, weariness seeps into our bones, and vulnerability becomes the chink in our armor through which doubts and fears infiltrate. It is in these valleys of weakness that the adversary sees an opportunity to strike, to erode our spirit with thoughts of defeat and despair.
Yet, I beckon you, dear sister, to persist. Let us press on through the biting winds of trial, for these tribulations we face are but fleeting shadows on the road to greater glory. The summit's promise eclipses the valleys we traverse. With each labored step, remember that in our fragility, an unfathomable strength arises – not our own, but that which is bestowed by grace. For in our weakest moments, the power of the Almighty shines brightest, transforming our insufficiency into a testament of His enduring might.
Reflect
- What can you release instead of carrying into the night?
- What reminder of God’s presence do you want to keep as you rest?
Prayer
Beloved Father, in the silent sanctuaries of our souls, we come before You, acknowledging our frailty. With hands uplifted, we offer our weariness as a canvas for Your strength. We are humbled by Your patient endurance, which You so graciously share with us. In moments of faint-heartedness, may we feel Your empowering embrace, enabling us to press onward. We rejoice in the knowledge that our strength is made perfect in weakness, for it is then that Your power is most potently revealed. We cling to this truth, for it is in You that we find the fortitude to overcome. With gratitude swelling within us and Your name on our lips, we pray. Amen.
